The Outreach Van – School Visits and Show events

Our Autumn event is always incredibly over subscribed so we have now secured funding to purchase a van which has allowed us to start offering school and show visits which enable us to reach more schools and therefore children each year.

Our visits allow us to bring some of the magic of Farmwise into the classroom. No animals but hands on interactive fun.

Activites include a workshop based on the Devon scone, splitting it down into its ingredients and talking through how they are all produced in our county. Field to ingredients, we finish off making the final ingredients butter and the children get to taste their butter on a scone.

The highlight of the visit for the children is Daisy the cow, our trusty assistant that the children get to milk. This is a very hands on and sensory workshop, where the children get to learn through doing.

Visits take place throughout the year with preference given to schools unable to attend the Autumn schools day. Please click the below button to apply for a school visit. Schools will be contacted firstly to confirm the receipt of their application, and secondly to confirm whether or not they have been successful and next steps.

In addition to Devon County Show, FarmWise also attends several one day shows across the County with the FarmWise van, albeit on a smaller scale.

By visiting the one day shows we are able to broaden the reach of Farmwise further across Devon.

We bring a number of the activities also seen at Devon County Show and our Autumn event, sometimes also including some farm animals!
